Venturing Into Jewelry

This weekend I attended only a few small sales and an estate sale. I wasn’t finding items in my usual catagories so I ventured over to the jewelry areas once the rush had died down. One sale had this Pandora bracelet with three glass beads for $5. I was surprised no one picked it up before me because Pandora was written right on the bag. The glass beads are not as collectible as some of the other ones but I am still hoping to get about $40 for the bracelet.P1480469

At the next sale I picked up two pieces of jewelry. I thought this peacock bracelet was impressive looking so I paid up for it at $7.00. There is no makers mark but I’m still hoping there is a buyer out there for it. The lady there threw in this peace sign pendant with it. I picked this up because I thought the style looked brutalist or modernist. It was only marked 50 cents but that was nice of her to give it to me with the peacock. It is also unmarked.

The last place where I picked up jewelry this weekend was an estate sale. They had all pins for $5. This first pin looked very art nouveau and it had the c clasp that I believe indicates an older piece. I thought the next piece I picked up was a pendant or a charm. It is a pair of skates. Each one has the name of the olympic skater Sonja Henie written on it. After researching it I realize that is was a pin which had a bar at the top. So it is missing a piece.

I bought a few more plush items as they continue to sell pretty well as Christmas approaches. I got this 9″ Kermit the frog, a Gund bear, a NY Mets Mascot and an organic rabbit. I’m not sure what makes a stuffed animal organic. I guess that the materials it is made with is grown organically.

Finally I picked up this cute Thomas the Tank clothes rack/wall hook item. It was only $2 so I couldn’t resist it.

This time of year I’m going to some Christmas bazaar/Grandma’s Attic sales. Sometimes the Grandma’s Attic part is very small but at least it’s something to keep the season going. I’m not ready to say goodbye to tag sale season yet! I hope that everyone who celebrates has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
